23 Anthony Stewart
Anthony Stewart signed with the Wildcats in the hope that it would enhance his Boomer aspirations, although he has not achieved that goal he has established himself as one of the best shooters in the country and a tough competitor. His scoring has dropped since leaving Hobart but playing on a loaded team is the reason why his scoring has declined. He has won a championship and played in the Semi Finals since joining the Wildcats and that sort of success can only increase his profile and gain him respect. He won the starting off guard spot in 1997 and he will look to keep it and increase his minutes and maybe play a little point guard in 1998. Stewart first started playing Basketball as an eight year old in Tasmania, and he grew up plying in various Tasmanian representitve teams and then played for the Devils in 1992. He had an average 1992 rookie season but he really atepped up the next season increasing his scoring average by six points to 11ppg. He increased that average even more in 1994 scoring a much improved 18.7ppg 5.0apg and 4.1rpg. His numbers decreased in his first season with the Wildcats but have steadied in the last two seasons.
