Mark Dalton comes to Newcastle with a reputation as a hard nosed and tough competitor. Dalton has played for three clubs, (Sydney Kings, Brisbane Bullets, Canberra Cannons) and he has won one NBL Championship. Dalton turns 34 this year and he will be playing for one of the NBL's youngest teams. Dalton is best known for his time with the Sydney Kings where he was the teams enforcer often getting fouled out/ejected for is team mates. He provided soem offence for the Kings as well, in his time with Sydney he averaged just under 10ppg and just over 7rpg. Dalton then went to Brisbane where he had an opportunity to start. Hr took advantage of this opportunity by taking soem of the Bullet's offensive load. In 1996 Dalton actually led the Bullets in scoring in a game against the South East Melbourne Magic, a remarkable effort considering his team mates, Leroy Loggins, Steve Woodberry, Dwayne Mclain. (Dalton had 25 points). Dalton has had some injury trouble in his NBL career but his time with the Bullets was relatively injury free. He will look foward to a fresh start with the young Falcons.
